Career Summary:
Joined Sperry Van Ness as a Senior Advisor in 2009. Worked in the commercial real estate field for over 30 years since first obtaining an Illinois Real Estate Salesperson’s license in 1977.
For over twenty years, was Treasurer and Head of the Finance and Realty Department for a large, multi-national, private company. In addition to the duties of senior financial officer, responsibilities included acquisition, disposition, and leasing for a portfolio of over 200 owned and leased properties used in the company’s operating businesses. Over a 20-year career, acquired, expanded, or divested over 35 production facilities and handled numerous, smaller transactions. In addition, created, managed, and ultimately sold investment portfolios with investments in over 2.5 million square feet of office, industrial, and retail properties in the United States and Canada. Analyzed all portfolio acquisitions, dispositions, and debt financings and in many instances directly negotiated purchases and sales.
Prior to corporate career, operated a brokerage business that focused on commercial, industrial, and residential brokerage as well as land acquisition. In addition, built homes and performed real estate appraisals. Owned and operated a restaurant business and a farming operation specializing in direct-marketed, grass finished beef.
